Hey there!

First things first, I’m Hanli! And I guess I can now officially say that I’m MTV’s new VJ! A mini intro to who I am, I’m 20 years young, born and raised here in sunny Singapore, I’m half German and half local (mum’s side is Peranakan), for the last 2 years I’ve been a model and I’m addicted to great food. I love animals, breath taking views, a soulful beat, lyrics that just hit the spot, and anything/anyone fierce. The last month has been stuffed with excitement, happiness and anxiety. Excitement because this is something I never thought I would be able to do, happiness because I finally feel like I’m in the right place at the right time and anxiety because I’m only human.

But if Glastonbury can do it, what’s stopping Southeast Asia’s first St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival, held on the historic slopes of Singapore’s Fort Canning Park on January 29, 2011? The 11-hour indie music festival saw a 6000-strong crowd of music lovers singing and dancing to the beats of nine critically-acclaimed bands from the likes of Beach House, Foals, and The Temper Trap.
