After months of searching, the trawl for our next MTV VJ is finally over! Fresh from her win at the recent MTV VJ Hunt competition where the winner was announced on stage at MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia 2010, our latest VJ addition, Holly Grabarek, is simply a new force to behold. Young, vibrant, and ever-so-charming with her smile, Holly shares a little bit more about herself before her journey as a VJ begins on MTV!

This year, kind of like Carl Lewis making time of 9.78 seconds at the 1998 US Olympic trials 100 meter sprint, has ran by me. I, laced up tight in Reeboks, look the part (athletic and semi-toned) have the lung capacity of a chain smoker. Out of breath and lagging behind but living by what Confucius said last week on Twitter, I am still in this race.

Growing up, I had all online mail delivered to the address of holly__rox@msn.com. I also wanted to be the next Britney Spears, or something of equal greatness but my Mother was against me watching the Toxic music video for fear that I might attempt to intimidate her dance moves. I now do not believe in instant messaging, internet addresses (apart from my compulsory work account), promiscuous symbols, synthetic vocals, and people who get married too many times in one life time.

Hi. Apa Kabar? How are things?

Firstly I’d like to say Hello Malaysia, and to the JUICE Team in Malaysia. I was down a few months ago to host Paramore, along with Utt, and while I was down the lovely people at JUICE thought it’d be a good idea to have me, on their December cover. I was like, ecstatic. Firstly because I am like this JUICE Magazine fan girl, and secondly- I knew I’d be styled well. It’s JUICE.

Up the ocean. Towards the ocean. Riding with the current. Propelled by current. Directly translated, with my very literal Mandarin. Those are the things I think of whenever I looked at that 8 lettered word.

Lights, camera, action! So Utt and I spent the whole of sunday, dressed up in pretty things, doing a photo shoot! We shot with Warren Wee who was a pleasure to work with! It was more fun than work though. Partly because there were M&M’s lying around.

I am tired. So tired I cannot feel my right eye twitch anymore and have my gym trainer ask me “what’s wrong with your face” in between lunges. The amount I have slept in the past week is the equivalent to the amount of food kate moss consumed in the summer of 96, when she substituted all meals with White Powdery stuff. And the time Gandhi went on a hunger strike. I wonder how hungry he got. Like on a 1-10 scale. Hmm.

Due to my severe pre-flight anxiety attacks, left home @ 6 am, got to airport 620am. Check-in only started at 645am so I was excessively early cause no one (apart from me) really checks in “on the dot” but it comforts me knowing that I was with-in walking distance of help from the airline people if there should be any unforeseen pre-flight complications. Unless i forgot my passport. But being 25 minutes early would give me time to realize that and still have time to go home/come back/board flight.
