• Brows, Brows, BrowsPosted May 10th, 2013 At 6:42 pm By Hanli Hoefer

    Hello, Hanli here.

So today’s ramble is on a pretty random topic: Eyebrows.

This is so because I recently had mine tended to by Benefit’s Brow Bar, “Raising eyebrows since 1976″ (I like their slogan). The experience was pleasant. It was at the beauty department at Tangs Shopping Centre. The medium was wax. I usually thread or tweeze so I’ve never actually waxed my brows before. That is probably because a chick I know in high school had her brows waxed and they burnt her skin, leaving burn marks around her brows which eventually scarred. Yeah, not good.

But after this experience, I think I’m going to keep waxing. It’s fast, clean and the ladies at Benefit are very thorough! The ONLY thing that was a little strange was getting my brows waxed whilst tons of people were walking through and looking. But a 10/10 for everything else!

What do you think of my new brows?

  • SuperheroesPosted April 26th, 2013 At 6:16 pm By Hanli Hoefer

    Hey everyone,

There has been many super hero conversations thrown around me recently – we are doing something on The MTV Show about super heroes, my friends and I have been debating which are the best super heroes, Iron man 3 posters are plastered around town – there is no escape! And it made me think who is my favorite super hero?

  • An Eventful Week…Posted April 23rd, 2013 At 5:57 pm By Hanli Hoefer

    Hello World!

This week is pretty eventful – so many emotions and new things happening all around me! The first episode of The MTV Show aired last Saturday! I can’t even begin to describe how that makes me feel. Scared, proud, anxious, nauseous even! I keep having day dreams of me leaving my house and there’s a mob of angry MTV fans waiting for me because they were disappointed. Yeah, my imagination brings out the worst of my anticipations. I tend to over think things a lot.

  • Where Do I Begin?Posted April 12th, 2013 At 2:59 pm By MTV ASIA

To be perfectly honest? I have absolutely no idea where to begin… The last few months of my life have been a whirlwind of transformation and change. And it’s all happened so fast that my mind has barely had enough time to adjust. I just don’t think any of it has sunk in yet. I have to remind myself every day that I live in Singapore, almost 10,000 miles away from my home in California. I have an entirely new group of friends, a completely new life style, and of course, a brand new job. Cause now, I am an MTV VJ. (I can’t tell you how weird it feels to say that) And it’s all happened over the last two months. Quite possibly the craziest and most amazing two months of my entire life. I am incredibly lucky. But also? I’m incredibly overwhelmed.

  • Future Music Festival Asia – DAY 2!Posted April 9th, 2013 At 2:00 pm By Hanli Hoefer

    Rita Ora

So carrying on my ramble about FMFA… Day 2! The festival grounds during the day honestly weren’t as pleasant as during the night before. It had just rained hard before the gates officially opened so the air was humid and stinky from the porter-potties. The crowd was definitely friendlier and younger. Instead of ravers, the grounds were swarmed with hipsters. We saw people with Mohican feather head-dresses, Aussie boys with themed get-ups, plenty of red lips, dark shades, clunky heels and high-waisted skirts and shorts.

  • Dick ‘The Rampage’ JohnsonPosted May 28th, 2012 At 5:29 pm By MTV ASIA

With VJ Holly returning from Los Angeles, The MTV Show is in full-swing. Thankfully Brangelina have been way too busy with wedding preparations to acknowledge Holly’s adoption request right away so she’s back where we want her. She did come back in all of her glory. However, it was a bit of ‘extra glory’ said our wonderful, yet honest stylist. I didn’t seem to notice but Holly needed to drop a few stored calories… Pronto.

  • Musical VisitsPosted May 14th, 2012 At 5:23 pm By MTV ASIA

And so I forge on while VJ Holly continues her quest to get adopted by Brangelina. Hopefully she will come to her senses and realise that all of the cash, trips around the world and hand-me-down shoes from Angie will not equal the happiness she will have co-hosting The MTV Show with yours truly!

While Holly struggles through her early twenties mid-life crisis, I was fortunate enough to be visited by a few special guests at the Waterfront Studios in Resorts World Sentosa. It’s the same place where Vanness Wu and James Morrison recorded their MTV Sessions gigs, so the place is no stranger to delightful music vibes.

  • Parking WoesPosted May 9th, 2012 At 3:17 pm By MTV ASIA

We shot a cool segment with K-Pop Megastar Jay Park that aired this past Saturday on The MTV Show. It begged the question, “Can Jay Park park?”

Alright, maybe not the most unique landmark concept in television history but an intriguing query nonetheless. It got me thinking that parking is really a staple of manhood. I understand women have this drive to be great drivers, and you are! No sarcasm intended, promise! However, for the sake of conversation, it is a true measuring standard to how well the manliest of MEN can stamp their existence and guarantee their name lives on throughout the ages.
