Beyonce — who is better known for playing a single lady than a lady on single player mode, has appeared in several of television advertisements for the Nintendo DSi.

Cue darkness, lights and action! Beyonce appeared right in front of us, looking slightly like the American heroine, Wonder Woman. It was all grand and bling. Audience stunned and awed into silence. Beyonce did all her hits and a medley of Destiny’s Child tunes. I am amazed that I could sing along to most of the song despite not being a fan. And Beyonce’s all-girl backing band kicked so much ass. Look at how drummers Kim Thompson and Nikki Glaspie rail on the kit. Now, I have a new ambition. I want to be a drummer for Beyonce too. I mean, dreams do come true right?

If it’s any one who could deliver the most outrageous and jaw-dropping award show of the year, it has to be MTV. Not that I’m singing the channel’s praises just because. I’m saying this because it’s simply the gospel since 1984.

Case in point – The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Kanye West unexpectedly earning the “Jerk Of The Year” award by crushing a little lamb like Taylor Swift to tears, Madonna delivering a moving Michael Jackson speech and a fitting tribute by Janet Jackson, the limelight hogging Lady Gaga spurting blood, Muse and Green Day bringing the house down and Beyonce showing the world she is afterall, one of the top divas with superb class and grace. The red carpet has its moments too, with various stars arriving in style. Pink with her fire truck, 3OH!3 with their roses, Taylor Swift in a horse-drawn carriage. Those are the reasons why the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards is wholly all encompassing – It’s of mayhem, chaos, shocks, fairy tales and undeniably rock ‘n’ roll!

That’s right, come September 13th, the most anticipated MTV Music Video Awards 2009 will be happening live in New York

Once again, British comedian, Russell Brand, will be hosting the event.
