It’s not so much of a High School Musical thing where they burst into songs for no apparent reason, but the format of this series is closer to that of the musical Chicago.

Instead of using traditional casting calls, the group of talented actors in Glee was hand-picked by Ryan Murphy himself on Broadway,  where he spent three months in search of them.

That said, expect a cast that’s not your usual commercial variety. And I must say, the story lines are rather refreshing and not cliché. I’m also constantly amazed by the vocals on the show, and yes, the actors really do sing the songs in the the show.

With great songs and an amazing cast, it’s surely an enjoyable show to watch!

According to JYP Entertainment, “Mimi had a truly memorable, once in a lifetime experience while living in the US and touring over 50 cities. We support her decision to pursue an academic career at this time. We will also support Mimi if she chooses to return to singing after her academics are complete. In the meantime, she plans to frequent JYP facilities and continue her dance and vocal classes.”

However, Sunmi’s announcement of departure has resulted in fans blaming JYP for taking the Wonder Girls to America too soon in an attempt to break into the music industry there.

Upset fans wrote,

“Sunmi’s withdrawal was a direct result of JYP’s personal desires. Nothing is resolved by replacing Sunmi with another girl. Is breaking into the American market a dream of JYP or the Wonder Girls? It’s really bad if JYP is neglecting the needs of young girls by satisfying his dreams and using them as a tool.”

Sunmi will be replaced by 17-year-old Lim, who was born in Hong Kong and is fluent in four languages – Korean, English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Seven years since Uptown Girls and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that she played a small role in New Moon and Eclipse of the Twilight saga. In fact, when I googled her picture, it hadn’t even occured to me that she would grow up looking any different. Boy, was I wrong.

Look at that, she’s already wearing heels and posing. And I do miss seeing that kid-face of her when she was younger.

I’d say the turning point was between 2004 and 2005.

One thing about her that never changed?

Her megawatt smile.

Danner’s extensive experience in filmography, television and theater is enough to put any living actor to shame. Not to mention her activist roles in health care and the environment.

The acting gene is certainly strong within Paltrow, who dropped out of university to follow an acting career. Certainly not the conventional path a parent would allow, but heck, who needs a degree when you can be this famous eh?

Martin Sheen has been more than just a familiar face on the television series The West Wing, he actually plays the President of the United States.

Having once disapproved of Charlie Sheen’s choice to pursue an acting career, Martin has since changed his tune, and they’ve appeared on-screen together. I guess there’s no looking back for Charlie ever since.

I do love him best in Two and a half Men.

What can I say? One of my favorite mother-daughter pair. Both looking gorgeous at their age, and still actively involved in their acting careers.

And though I’ve only gotten to know of Hawn when she played Elise Elliot in The First Wives Club (which was aeons ago), I’ve always remembered her distinctively. Must be the power mummy look she has going on for her.

Kate Hudson, on the other hand, seems to be on a movie roll lately, with 11 movies under her belt in the last 6 years. From How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days in 2003 to the recently completed movie, The Killer Inside Me in 2009, I’m not surprised if work could be the reason why she’s looking so young and radiant!

It should come as no surprise that both father and son are successful comedians!

A veteran comedian, Jerry Stiller is best known as Arthur Spooner of King of Queens.

And apparently his son, Ben, did not fall very far from the haha tree. He’s been in recurring comedic roles such as There’s Something About Mary to Meet the Parents.

Here is a movie that I thought I would never ever watch, because it seems like one of those overrated blockbusters (like Star Trek). But after a tug or two from the boyfriend, I gave in and suffered a front row seat, wondering what I should be in for the next two hours.

Surprisingly, my pre-judgement was wrong and I found myself enjoying the movie far more immensely than him. In fact, Star Trek became one of my favorites as well after much persuasion to watch from the said man.

My first response to the suggestion of watching this movie was ‘What does ‘avatar’ even mean??’ with the whole eye-rolling drama.

But halfway through the movie, then it hit me what ‘Avatar‘ really meant; an alter ego of yourself on the computer. I actually knew that before hand, but the connection between the movie title didn’t click until then.

You know that sort of realisation that hits you and you give a long ‘ohhhh’? Except that I was in the cinema then, so I did a mental ‘ohhhh’ instead and started getting really excited cause I finally understood why James Cameron gave that title. Gowatchgowatch!

And since I’m not a professional movie reviewer, I can only say that this movie is about the human race attempting to exploit the planet Polyphemus, thus endangering its native inhabitants in the process. On the other hand, a group of nature-loving humans have attempted to communicate with these natives by operating through avatars that are in the physical form of this blue-skinned species.

Ultimately, when good meets bad, and bad just won’t back down, it can only mean war. Okay, I hope I haven’t said too much. Put love into the equation as well and personally, I found it great.

But I must say, I absolutely adore the freckled glow on their faces and that it makes me just want to sprinkle glitter onto my own face!

And the setting of the movie was so beautiful that it makes you just want to live like them and prance around the forest. Communication with nature is so powerful (and effective) in this movie that I sincerely believe that this is how we should be genetically predisposed with. But until you’ve watched it, you won’t quite get what I mean.

On a sidenote, there’s a phrase in the movie that made me giggle and got me repeating to the boyfriend again and again, ‘We’re mated for life.’

I just got back from Hong Kong recently and let me just say, I absolutely detest budget traveling. Coupled with a daily dosage of non-stop sight-seeing and flea markets haggling, I came back a little more than jaded with only one thing in mind; sleep. Thus, I apologize for the lack of updates. Bet you guys had an awesome Christmas and hardly noticed I was missing in action. But if you did miss me, aww shucks. (blush) And though the title has given it away (as Kerrie would agree with me on most of our posts), yes, I certainly did not miss out on the ever-so-famous Madame Tussauds. Remember those daydreaming sessions you had of meeting your favorite stars? Well, this is as close as you’re gonna get; their waxwork version.

The bf is rather smug about his new found love. Sheesh. On a sidenote, see the 'paparazzi' backdrop? The cameras do go off with flashes and all! He felt momentarily famous. Poor fella.

And guess who this is?

Hint: She has many kids; adopted ones, biological ones...you name it.

Yups, you guessed it. It’s Angelina Jolie. And she’s not alone.

Three is clearly NOT a crowd in this picture.

I used to think I was pretty tall, but in comparison to our western counterparts, we’re actually quite petite! This next face would be very familiar to Korean drama fans. Heartthrob of Winter Sonata, Bae Yong Joon.

Don't despair, ladies. The affair is rather one-sided.

Neither the bf nor I have watched this drama or any Korean drama for that matter, but in my teen years, I was surrounded by a bunch of school peers who would gush over him before the bell rang for classes, signaling the end of a non-existential romantic involvement with him. Oh well.

Johnny Depp. I've got a new lover too.

His attention shifted to criticizing Shakespeare's work.

And how can we ever forget Leon Lai? He may be a tad old now (about 43), but I remember gushing over him when I was younger (I know, I gushed over a lot of people when I was younger. In my defense, everyone does!). Besides, we have the same date of birth, only we were born in different years. Same goes for Leonardo DiCaprio. Two good-looking men with the same birthday as me could only mean one thing; I’m good-looking too.

Leon Lai. I ride on his not-so vroom vroom bike every night.

I just had to.

Despite his less-than-manly voice, you just can’t help admiring him sometimes, ya know?

While I was busy taking pictures, he was obsessed with playing pattycake with Sir Alfred Hitchcock.

I don’t know why Sir Alfred was modeled this way though, maybe it’s his signature pose. A British-born filmmaker, he’s known for making a cameo appearance in each of his films – only as a silhouette.

The Beatles.

He got the King of Rock, Elvis Presley.

And I got the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

The next thing I saw got me posing:

I'm his (insert number)-th mistress. (beams)

Poor fella, he recently got dropped by his first sponsor. But it’s hard to pity him at this point. Moving on.

Marilyn Monroe & Wi Nie Monroe. The similarity is uncanny.

The bf and I were snapping pictures and posing so much that by the end of the day,  even the emergency exit door was not spared.

That's how you open it.

Throughout the whole episode, my tear ducts were acting up and I had goose bumps all over!

Catelyn looks so innocent and sweet while Tyler looks like a punk. You can see it through his eyes he is really a rebel at heart. However, I never expected him to be so understanding and loving towards Cateyln and the decision they had to make.

16 & Pregnant - Catelynn and Tyler

What was the decision? The decision of adoption. Both Catelyn’s mom and Tyler’s dad were not supportive of that decision and tempers were flaring!

Drama? You bet! Catelyn’s mom and Tyler’s dad hooked up and got married! I don’t know about you but I am weirded out by it.

Through this, we saw the pros and cons of the adoption process. It is definitely not an easy thing to give up your own child to someone else, but I feel that they know where they stand and that they are in no capacity to provide for the child. The life they are living now is not something which they want for their child, and the adoptive parents can provide what they never could.

It was definitely tough and you could see the pain in their eyes when the time came.

Tyler’s dad was furious over their decision and I know where he is coming from. However, if they are not able to support a child, are you not depriving the child of it’s basic necessities? He was definitely scary looking though.

Throughout the whole process, there was no support from their parents. I cannot imagine how hard it was to do everything themselves. You could tell Tyler and Catelyn grew and took so much from the whole experience.

16 & Pregnant - Whitney & Mom

I like how ideas of abortion and adoption came up though, I do not abhor abortion but at least she was able to give the idea of adoption a slight thought instead of stubbornly thinking she will definitely deliver the child.

While Whitney may have had many friends in school, but because of her bulging tummy, she dropped out and barely left the house.

16 & Pregnant - Eerie & Whitney

After what seemed like ages, she decided to make her first trip to the mall with her best friend. And when she did, she felt like all eyes were on her. The stares and then losing her dog, just made her sink further into depression!

The stares were crazy though.

‘A lot of people think if they hang out with me, they will become pregnant too!’

Oh and finally, like FINALLY! In this episode, we have a sweet and handsome guy who just seems so chill and cool about everything. I am sure he is just as scared but he is definitely trying his best to hide it all and support Whitney.

16 & Pregnant - Weston & Whitney

Thank goodness for Whitney though, that she has a boyfriend who seems more like the mommy! And the best part? Not a hint of complaints!

As with most teenage couples, money is an issue as always. Why they would even bother looking at such a nice house when their finances obviously cannot be better off than Grandma’s just doesn’t make sense. Maybe they just wanted to try their luck? I don’t know… Well, in the end, they did get a rather nice place. Perhaps a tad bit too easy, they just seem to be taken care of and not given a chance to stand on their own two feet

Coupled with the stress of living with two pregnant women in that small space, you cannot blame grandma for blowing her top when Whitney joked with her over that really ‘interesting’ mug. HAHA! Her stuff is whack though!

When Whitney’s baby was born, it was so funny watching how Whitney took care of her. It was hilarious! Especially when he peed on her!

The last episode is next week, and man, this has definitely been a journey! Thanks for all the comments and I hope you guys enjoyed the show as much as I have!
