In a bid to counter falling handset sales and stiff competition from Apple, Motorola, and Sony Ericsson, Nokia is expanding to the PC market with its very own netbook: the Booklet 3G. Nokia is optimistic that the device will offer something different and desirable for the user, as the market appears to have already been cornered by Taiwanese PC firms Acer, Asus, and MSI.

Game director, part-time voice actor, and all-around cool dude Kojima Hideo has released the latest trailer for his next major title — Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker. The game is slated for release in 2010 on the PSP and features a multi-player mode unheard of in the previous installments.

Sony — in a bid to regain their dominance over the console gaming market, has come up with a triple whammy of new releases that makes me happy I love video games.
A slimmer, sexier PLAYSTATION 3 has been announced to start shipping by 1st September in the US and Europe. The unit will also cost less that its predecessor at just USD 299 for the 120 GB unit. Kaz Hirai of Sony claims that the PS3 Slim is 33% smaller and 36% lighter than the older PS3, and its new Cell processor may be smaller, but will run just as fast as the larger units.

If you think hitting a 100% 5-GS Full Combo on Expert is the high point of your Rock Band career, then you’ve obviously never been backstage at a major concert. MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2009 was the gig to catch this season, and no less than 15,000 people rocked out at Sunway Lagoon in Kuala Lumpur. MTV gave me the golden opportunity to fly in and catch the concert with fellow MTV Bloggers Wi Nie, Kerrie, and Lennat.

Hi! My name is Rochelle, but online I am known as magnetic_rose. I like anime, manga, cosplay, figures, video games, and breaking my toys – I have a veritable graveyard of bricked Playstations, broken digital cameras, and waterlogged portable music players. I am also MTV’s new Gadgets and Gaming Blogger, and I hope you guys stick around for the six months or so that I’m on assignment.
This blog will be about the games we play, the technology that runs our lives, the news that will affect our spending habits, and the stuff that we add on to make our experiences richer.
