Meet The Bloggers!

This past Monday morning we had a few of our blogger friends over to the cozy confines of our MTV office to watch the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. Holly and myself jumped up in front of everyone to kick-start the morning. As I looked up at the group of about 15 or so, they were all busy chopping away at their laptop keyboards. It was crazy to witness their multitasking abilities throughout the live telecast. They were able to watch the Movie Awards, talk, listen, eat, text, type, laugh, cry, drink coffee, blog and disco-nap – ALL AT THE SAME TIME! And actually, well, probably be halfway productive too. But that’s what bloggers do!

I thought for a moment what life for many of us has become. It is in our ability to translate our mere thoughts into a relatable medium that others can reach out to. We want others to consider our intangible views and opinions and still be able to physically reach out and interact with others. It is that delicate balance between trying to express our experiences through photos, writing or action while somehow trying to relish what’s really in front of our face. The NOW – that is the essence of living our lives.

For most people it’s just another day at the office, but for some of us it’s a constant struggle to really fit everything in. Alas, the Movie Awards gave a much needed rest for the mentally weary by providing some comical relief. Russell Brand fit his role magnificently as host. The presenters were concise and many shared that magnetic, yet awkward chemistry, rightly justifying the reason why they were paired together in the first place. Emma Stone’s award skit was pulled off to perfection and Johnny Depp proved there’s nothing he cannot do!

Although Twilight cleaned house much to the chagrin of many (Kristen Stewart is certified awesome though), you couldn’t help but enjoy the show. I mean c’mon!!! Who doesn’t like listening to Charlie Sheen rant and rave?!
