Don’t you all just love awards season?

The divas come out to play, yards of fabric are used to cover up artistes’ bodies in varying ways, cute people get dressed up cutely and people get to win prizes! Everyone wins, including myself, because then I have something to blog about.

First of all, we all need some constancy in our lives. Something that doesn’t change. And we know you can count on Lady Gaga for that.

Sure, her outfits change, but you can sure as hell count on her to be entertaining.

I mean, look at her. Her outfit resembles the bird’s nest stadium Beijing built for the Olympics. To complete the whole theme, even her hair is a Big-Bird (of Sesame Street) shade of yellow. She is BRILLIANT. I’m not even being sarcastic.

BTW, re: the Katy Perry wanting to continue to be an Idol Judge issue – I really wouldn’t mind. In fact, I enjoyed the segment she was in, mostly ‘cos she could shut Kara DioGuardi up from time to time, and wasn’t afraid to direct some barbs her way – which is awesome because Kara can be a really LOUD and ANNOYING woman.

And even more so now that Paula is gone and Kara doesn’t have to pretend to be all Gal Pal and Grrl Power with her anymore – she’s being extra assertive. Kara, we get it: You want to make your opinions KNOWN.

And anyways, I think we have to talk about Pink.

Looking through the thumbnails, I almost mistook it for a Gaga outfit - but then I was surprised to discover it was Pink! Something has unraveled her, like, literally:

Show-stopping or what? It’s like Cirque du Soleil, but louder and more pseudo-naked. I love the healthy competition the Gaga is whipping up.

And here is the aforementioned diva, J. Lo. I am not very fond of her white netty looking thing. It reminds me of the netting they wrap apples or pears in to prevent them from bruising. Perhaps it serves the same purpose for her?

(That said, her figure is fantastic still of course.)

Also, dare I suggest that regal-looking Rihanna here is wearing a dress reminscent of the Gaga’s black feathered-neck-ruffled outfit at the MTV VMAs 09? Of course she looked maybe ten times scarier, but I do get a sense of that silhouette is what RiRi is wearing. But this is definitely a toned down and not as costumey version, of course.

And seriously? This guy doesn’t age. I remember listening to his music when I was a wee kid thanks to the older brother. He looks pretty much the same then as he does now.

I was about to say:

Britney, you’re looking cheerful and fresh, well done!

Until I saw that parts of her dress were missing, and that she’s basically wearing like, a black onesie under a netted sheath.
